Help set up a dementia awareness day:
Please speak slowly, as I don’t understand,
My mind is wandering in some far off land,
I have this Dementia inside my head,
My body aches, my legs like lead,
When you speak, please speak to me,
I`m still the person I used to be,
Not over my head, or to my carer,
This makes my mind wander ever further,
I`m still alive and have much to do,
If you speak to me, I will speak to you!!!!
Beautiful poem by Norm, who three years ago was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s “Early onset” and since then has campaigned long and hard to give people and their carer`s/loved ones with this awful disease a VOICE and to reduce the Stigma that is unfortunately connected with Dementia in general.

Where there's a ball of wool, there's a way to aid children
Peter Hornsby, our County Network Facilitator, has handed me a newspaper reading from the Shoreham Herald, which I want to share with you all.
Where there's a ball of wool, there's a way to aid children
A GROUP of women has been knitting tirelessly to help deprived children.
The pensioners from the Senior Monday Club, in Southwick, have created almost 100 winter garments to send out to children in Romania, Albania and Moldova.
Now they are appealing for donations of coloured wool so they can create more jumpers, scarves, hats, snoods and cardigans.
This is the first year the group has supported the charity, Christian Response to Eastern Europe, and members hope to carry on providing more knitwear for children aged three to ten.
The team of six women, though, desperately need coloured double knitting wool to produce more items. The women are also hoping that someone will come forward who is willing to go to Exmouth, Devon, where the charity is based, to deliver the items, or that a courier service will offer to deliver the large box free of charge. The club meets at Southwick Community Centre, in Southwick Street, Southwick from 10.30am to 12.30pm on Mondays.
If you are interested in this article or would like any further information, please contact Peter Hornsby on 01903 731800.
